It also affected my iMacs ability to print on the network. It is making it’s way all over the place and once it gets into your home network, it’s ‘goodnight nurse’. Again, all my AV updates were current – it shuts down your AV first, then erases the ‘D’ drive, then various drivers, etc. I am an engineer but no MS certified techie, so I don’t know the details. I just know it just cost me a ton of money and a huge amount of lost data, pictures and a massive headache. And yes, I know I should have

This f’ing virus got past my McAfee ‘current’ anti-virus sw 2-days ago and destroyed 2 of my PCs and my home network. This is the first time I have had a problem to this extent. If you see something on your homepage that says ‘non-genuine Microsoft software’ in use, get it off your network immediately. It is probably too late by then as it was for my 2nd machine. I had to have both completely rebuilt. Only use Microsoft Essentials for AV if possible. It’s the only package that seems to keep up.

  4. PanzerVIZeke says:

@smashbrosdojo3 You have to download it from a different comouter and transfer it using a flash drive.

  5. smashbrosdojo3 says:

Delete the 3 letter.exe file that you removed from memory with Task Manager. There will also be a long filename that was created with the same date. Delete that one too. Restarty your computer and it should be gone. Scan with Malwarebytes for extra precaution. If all else fails, I can remove it remotely. Visit cssonsite . net and give me a call. I hope my post helps.

    Removal Instructions for Antivirus 2011
Firsrt remove the virus from memory. Open up task manager. Look for a 3 letter.exe file running. End Task on it. You will know when you have the correct file because AV2011 will disappear. For Vista and Windows 7, go into the control panel. Click on Folder Options. Click on the view tab. Check View Hidden Files and uncheck the three settings immediately below. Open up Windows Explorer. Go to c:users{username}local settingsapplicationdata

i put that program on a card and tryed to transfer it and it won’t download. even in safe mode. i did safe it to .com instead. what do i dooo fuck this fucking virus. i’m pissed

  12. jrich360 says:

Do System Restore to an earlier date, this will remove it. It locks up all your web browsers so you won’t be able to use them. System restore is the answer. Otherwise if you have a seperate restore drive partition restart or unplug computer and turn on and hit F8 when the computer comes on, then do repair computer option; Then you can reformate your c: drive to factory settings but you will loose all unsave files. I recommend system restore first, type it in search and it will come up.

  13. sonicsuperhiper says:

    Step 1 Donwload malwarebytes.
step 2 Do a complete scan. Eleminate all the infections
Step 3 Do a online scan with Panda activescan 2.0
Step 4 Go to a forum and put the log of Panda.

  14. billyskip says:

mbam.exe fixes this too. This also causes a proxy in Internet exlorer which causes the redirects. achcomputers. com

  15. Keivz says:

This thing just railroaded microsoft securtiy essentials. Kinda suspicious how this one program can fix this problem, ain’t it? I smell conspiracy. System restore did the trick.

  16. mystikwang says:

@beebop161 go into your tas manager … ctrl alt dlt and find the AAM notifier and end the process tree and you can access the internet that way

  17. MrNoobWarrior says:

@beebop161 go into safe mode with networking

what if it blocks me from opening the internet?

  20. NotreDameGuardian says:

    Thanks a bunch Dhanaviir !
I tried those and it didn’t work. But there’s light at the end of this tunnel: I managed to have access to System Restore through Safe Mode ! I went back a month ago and I think I got rid of it. I’m installing a new antivirus program, I’ll make a thorough search and I may be okay… What do you think ?

  21. Dhanaviir says:

    @NotreDameGuardian

use TDSS killer by kaspersky antivirus, download from another computer and put it on yours. first use Rkill on the bleepingcomputer website, if u can’t run exe run the .src extention. then you should be able to run malwarebytes and any other antivirus as well as fix the registry

  22. NotreDameGuardian says:

I don’t know what version of this s*** I got but I can’t acces the registry, msconfig, the internet or anything. It appears even in safe mode and trying to install SWdoctor or any other such files (even renamed) doesn’t work ! 8-0
Short of reinstalling Windows, is there anything I can do ? I sure won’t give those b**ds any money !

And rootkits aren’t that hard to remove.. get fucking grip.. another big dilemma with this test is the fact that this Windows XP (Why not Vista?) isn’t updated at all.. It’s not even registrered! How in the hell is anything going to keep Windows Xp + IE6 from taking a crap on you as soon as it sees a virus? This is plain stupidity..

  43. Mantua64 says:
