I understand that “personal antivirus” is actually malicious spyware. Do I need to purchase a spyware removal package to get rid of this or is there something free out there that will remove it.

I have the mcafee security program. I’m running a spyware scan on my computer with it right now but it takes FOREVER. Will mcafee detect this “Personal antivirus” program as spyware and remove it from my computer? I heard this particular spyware program is highy sophisticated and some spyeware removal programs will not detect it as spyware. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it without spending any money?

You can always try this program called Adaware. you can download it for free on the internet.
